A great device that does everything, (and more) than most hand held readers costing at least 3 time the $100 bucks that this ScanTool costs.
It works with just about any computer, use a laptop with the supplied cable and even your desktop computer can be used if the car is within about 10 feet of the computer.
Very quick and easy setup with the supplied install CD. You don't have to be a computer expert to read and clear any error code. You can see all of the vehicle's sensors in a easy to understand screen. Third party software is available that will give some really impressive gauge panels and performance data.
Bottom line: A great value for a very useful tool.

I've bought this tool a three weeks ago, and this tool (Elmscan 5 serial) has just proven to be such a amazing tool for the its price. With free software, I can do read OBDII trouble codes with ease and erase them. So far using this tool i've helped diagnose problems several old and new cars. Using live sensor data, I've been able to determine that my O2 sensor needs replacing, even though the check engine light is on. I can see so much potential in this as well, using the live data that this tool can provide I can use it toward performance tuning, for instance to monitor air/fuel mix, air flow rate, coolant temp etc.
I use this Elmscan 5 tool with my laptop and Sony Clie PDA, and I love this tool for what it can do for me and others (helping friends and family fix their cars). At the price it is sold, its a real bargin, because I have not found a PC based (or PDA) tool that can perform such functions and be flexible enough for all OBDII protocols at this price.
