If you plan on using the Equus 3145 code reader, I highly recommend you spring for one of these extension cables. You can read codes as well as run the diagnostic tests from the comfort of your car's front seat. Without the extension cable, you will have to go from your seat to the hot engine bay and back to use the code reader.
